The Daily Vine was created to serve a simple mission: to be encouraging, inspirational, helpful and informative. The focus is on news and information that has the power to enrich lives and provide reason for hope. The stories originate from all corners of the world and from all walks of life.

The creator of The Daily Vine, Glenn Hannigan, is a career journalist with more than 30 years of writing and editing experience. He has served in various leadership roles at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution, including Sunday Editor, Special Projects Editor, Sports Editor and Senior News Editor for the 1996 Summer Olympics. He previously worked at the Sun-Sentinel in Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and at the Palm Beach Post.

In addition to a lengthy career in journalism, Hannigan is a frequent speaker at various Christian events and retreats, is a long-time adult Sunday school teacher, mentor and small group leader. He has been married to wife Candi for 24 years. The couple has three children: Julie, 24, Drew, 22, and Rebecca, 18.

Candi Sitton Hannigan is a career journalist who has an abiding interest in grassroots ministry efforts that cross denominational lines. She has written about church news and events for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution for more than a dozen years. In 2011 she created The Cherokee Vine, a monthly newsletter designed to connect the county’s churches, ministries and people. She writes regularly for Patch, an online news service founded by AOL.

Candi, a South Carolina native, was also co-founder of Give A Kid A Chance – Cherokee, Inc. in 2006, along with Cheryl Ruffer. The back-to-school ministry serves close to 3,000 at-risk children each year and is supported by more than two dozen churches in Cherokee County.

Before being hired by The Atlanta Journal-Constitution in 1983, Candi worked at The Charlotte Observer and The St. Petersburg Times/Evening Independent. She graduated cum laude from the University of South Carolina with a bachelor of arts in journalism.

Candi has been married to the Rev. Glenn Hannigan for 25 years. Glenn, who serves as pastor of Ebenezer UMC in Roswell, previously worked as a senior editor at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution. The couple started TruVine Communications, LLC., in 2008.

They have three children: Julie, 23; Drew, 22, and Becca, 18.

Glenn Hannigan is a communications specialist with more than 30 years of experience in writing, editing, public speaking and professional training. His background includes working at major daily newspapers, web site development, book publishing and corporate communications consulting.

For more than 25 years, Glenn served in various leadership roles at the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, including Sunday Editor, Sports Editor, Special Projects Editor and Senior News Editor for the 1996 Summer Olympics. He previously worked at the Sun-Sentinel in Fort Lauderdale, FL, and at the Palm Beach Post.

Glenn was part of the startup team that created ajc.com and also helped launch various other new products at the AJC. He has a reputation for a clear and direct communication style, creative thinking and bringing passion and enthusiasm to his work. In addition to his professional background, Glenn has been a frequent speaker at various Christian events and retreats, is a long-time Sunday School teacher, mentor, small group leader, and currently serves as a part-time local pastor at Ebenezer United Methodist Church in Roswell, GA.
